We're grateful to the group of Wells Fargo volunteers who joined us at Five Loaf House yesterday. Thank you for your hard work!
Today we were joined at Five Loaf House by a crew of workers from Sanofi Pasteur. We're extremely grateful for their work, their generous spirit, and the way they kept chugging along in spite of the heat! Thank you to all who participated.
Great news! We picked up our building permit yesterday, so we're now able to move forward with a lot of work that we've been holding off on for several months. We haven't posted any announcements recently because we've been waiting on this permit, but now we should be able to give updates more regularly. Thank you for your prayers and your patience.
If you've been waiting to volunteer, now is the time to jump in. There is a lot of work to be done for all skill levels, and we want to have the building ready for the food pantry as soon as we can. Log in to Habitat's volunteer hub to sign up for Five Loaf House work days. We have now scheduled work days for Saturday, June 22nd and Saturday, June 29th. We'll be working from 9 am to 2 pm, and we're expecting to have lunch provided. If you're interested in helping, please sign up using Habitat's volunteer hub (requires registration). There are also volunteer forms available here on Habitat's website.

http://pahomepage.com/fulltext/?nxd_id=353402 We'll be having another cleanup day at 1:30 pm this Thursday, May 2nd. As was the case last Saturday, here's what you need to know:
If you've been itching to get to work on Five Loaf House, now is your chance! This Saturday, April 27th, from 9 am to noon, we'll be doing some cleanup to prep the space for renovations. Specifically, we'll be cleaning the front porch and small dining room to be used for safety meetings and refreshments on work days. We'll also be moving some of the items in the dining rooms, such as chairs and glassware, upstairs for storage while renovations are underway.
Here's what you need to know if you're interested in helping:
We're in the process of drawing up our plans for the first phase of building renovations. We'd rather take our time now to make sure we don't create problems for ourselves down the road, so be patient! We're hoping to have our first work days within the next month.
A news crew from Blue Ridge Communications was at Five Loaf House today taping an interview. It will air on tonight's news at 5 and 6.
A photo and paragraph about our celebratory groundbreaking made it onto the front page of the Journal of the Pocono Plateau!
